We start by checking your scalp and talking through any concerns. Then warm oils are worked into your scalp and hair, followed by a slow, rhythmic massage using pressure points on the head, neck, and shoulders. It is very methodical and quite different from a standard head massage. Most people go very quiet or drift off completely. We use steam and warm towels to open the pores and help the oils absorb properly. The whole thing is done at a deliberately slow pace, and the room is kept calm and quiet throughout. People often say the effects last for days afterwards, both in terms of how their hair feels and their general state of mind.
The pressure point work around the temples, base of the skull, and neck can ease tension headaches and the stiffness that comes from screen time and desk work.
