Your first visit is a consultation and patch test where we check your skin type, hair colour, and suitability for treatment. On treatment day, the area needs to be shaved and clean. Cooling gel may be applied for comfort. The laser handpiece glides across your skin delivering pulses of light that target the hair follicles. You will feel warmth and a slight snapping sensation, but most people find it much more comfortable than waxing. Sessions range from 20 minutes for small areas like underarms to 60 minutes for larger areas or combinations. Afterwards, the skin may look pink or slightly swollen, similar to mild sunburn, but this usually settles within hours. Hair starts shedding 1 to 2 weeks later. Most people need 6 to 8 sessions spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the body area, because the laser only works on hair that is actively growing.
