We start with a consultation and patch test to check your skin type, discuss your concerns, and make sure the treatment is right for you. Protective eyewear goes on, and the handpiece glides across your skin delivering controlled pulses of light. You will feel warmth and possibly a slight snapping sensation, but most people find it very manageable. Sessions last 20 to 60 minutes depending on the area. Afterwards, your skin will look pink or flushed, similar to mild sunburn, which usually settles within a few hours. If you are having pigmentation treated, dark spots may darken first before flaking away over 7 to 14 days. Thread veins can also look darker initially before fading. Results build over 2 to 4 weeks as your skin heals and renews. Most people need 4 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for the best outcome.
